Vocational Service

The primary aim of Vocational Service is to uphold high ethical standards in business and profession, recognising the inherent value and dignity of all occupations.

Sharing expertise

Vocational Service, on which Rotary was founded, encourages members to use their vocations, education, and skillsets to serve others.

Thereby promoting high ethical standards within their professional and personal lives as clubs celebrate the various projects and initiatives that highlight the importance of vocational service.

Members can contribute their vocational expertise to club projects, helping to address societal needs and challenges through practical skills and knowledge. Additionally, members are encouraged to mentor other members both in Rotary and vocation.

VVE Plus – Connecting Communities Through Virtual Exchange

In today’s fast-changing and increasingly connected world, the need for meaningful global connection has never been greater.
While traditional exchange programs have long been a cornerstone of Rotary’s commitment to international understanding, they can be limited by time, cost, and travel. This means many people miss out on the opportunity to connect, learn, and share across cultures.

Rotary has always been at the forefront of bringing people together to create positive change. With the rise of digital technology, there is now an opportunity to extend that reach even further: making global exchange more accessible, inclusive, and dynamic. By removing geographical barriers, individuals can engage with diverse perspectives, strengthen communities, and foster collaboration on a truly global scale.

VVE Plus (Virtual Vocational Exchange Plus), developed by Rotary International District 3450, is a user-centric, community-driven platform that reimagines how we connect across borders.

True to Rotary’s spirit of service, leadership, and fellowship, VVE Plus empowers participants to take the lead—creating and shaping their own exchange communities based on shared interests, professions, and passions.
Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, and members of the wider community are invited to be part of this exciting initiative.

By registering on the platform, you can join existing exchange communities or start your own. Each community evolves through the ideas and contributions of its members, creating meaningful, relevant, and engaging experiences.
What This Means for You
VVE Plus offers you the opportunity to:
  • Build genuine global connections
  • Share your knowledge and learn from others
  • Develop new skills and perspectives
  • Strengthen your professional and personal networks
  • Contribute to positive change through collaboration
All of this can be achieved in a flexible, accessible way, no travel required, just a willingness to connect and engage.

A pilot VVE Plus community, initiated by Past District Governor Kenneth Wong, has already demonstrated the power of this concept. Participants from Hong Kong, Uganda, London, Manila, Melbourne, and Singapore have come together through a series of engaging virtual sessions, sharing insights and building lasting connections. These early successes highlight the strength of Rotary’s global network and the potential of VVE Plus to grow even further.

VVE Plus is more than a platform, it is Rotary in action in a digital world. It reflects who we are: people of action, bringing communities together, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities for growth and service.

Register on the VVE platform, explore existing communities, or take the lead and start your own. Your ideas, your experience, and your voice can help shape meaningful global conversations and connections.

Join VVE Plus today—and be part of Rotary’s next chapter in global exchange. We invite Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, and community members across the Rotary South Pacific region and beyond to take part in this growing global exchange community.
