On 16 January 2026, the Rotary South Pacific’s leadership team put forward requests to Rotary International’s (RI) Board about the future of the Regionalisation Pilot.
(If you need to catch up on what Regionalisation is, why it’s in place and how it works, we recommend you start here.)
We’re excited to share that the Rotary International Board has approved an extension of the Zone 8 Regionalisation Pilot through to 30 June 2028.
This decision reflects the Board’s enthusiasm and confidence in the early signs of success we are already seeing. The Board’s action sends a clear message: this work matters, it is showing promise, and it deserves the time and participation needed to reach its full potential. The world is watching and looking to learn from our experience.
As a result, Rotary in the South Pacific will have more time to:
Grow membership
Enhance Rotary’s brand
Create a lasting impact.
Now is the moment for all of us to lean in, sign on, and give the pilot a genuine chance to succeed. Your engagement, feedback, and openness to new ways of working will directly shape how this model evolves and how we shape Rotary in our part of the world.
