Animal rescue, rehabilitation, and release through Rotary

If there’s one thing you can rely on in this uncertain world, it’s that Rotary members show up to serve their communities and beyond, all year long.

Did you know that one of Rotary’s key commitments across the world is to protect the environment? Clubs and members put this in action through conservation, protection of natural resources and other sustainable solutions.

Rotary Club of SEQ Wildlife Rescue

(Queensland, Australia)

The Rotary Club of SEQ Wildlife Rescue is a specialised club in South East Queensland dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing native Australian wildlife back into the wild.

In less than a year since its establishment, the club has already released wallabies, gliders, possums, lorikeets and many other birds back into their natural habitat.

Beyond rescuing animals, the club is training new carers, building relationships with wildlife organisations, working with property developers to protect wildlife during land clearing, and planning a future wildlife hospital and education centre.

Rotary clubs of Morisset and East Maitland

(New South Wales, Australia)

The Rotary clubs of Morriset and East Maitland recently provided hands-on support during Aussie Ark’s conservation weekend to protect the endangered Tasmanian Devil.

From weeding enclosures and maintaining the site to preparing habitats, the team rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in to help support Aussie Ark’s disease-free insurance population of Tasmanian Devils.

By serving communities and safeguarding the environment, Rotary clubs build a future where people and nature can thrive together. Their efforts focus on creating lasting impact that strengthens communities while preserving the world for generations to come.
