Your 2026-28 Rotary Community Leaders (RCLs) have been getting ready for their term, starting 1 July. To support them, Rotary South Pacific launched a consistent approach to their onboarding, focusing on flexible learning and collaboration.
Wait… What is an RCL?
Rotary Community Leaders (RCLs) are key leadership positions that help shape the future of Rotary under the Pilot in the South Pacific. RCLs act as guides and mentors for clubs within Rotary Community Groups (RCGs) and function as the primary connector between clubs, Rotary South Pacific’s directors and portfolio committees, districts, and specialist hub resources.
Flexibility is key
A 'Growing Together Journey' meets Rotary Community Leaders wherever they are in their learning cycle. Some will have more experience as an RCL, while others will need more support to get started. The Journey encourages us to use resources, ideas and trainings that are most beneficial to our clubs and members.
Tools for the journey
There is also a focus on peer support, e.g. how RCLs can learn from one another. They do this through sharing stories about what Rotary Community Groups are doing in their region and open up for opportunities to collaborate. The result? A greater collective impact of projects that support clubs and communities.
