Mental Health & Crisis Support QR Code

A simple but powerful initiative is quietly transforming how people access mental health and crisis support: a QR code that connects individuals directly to immediate, confidential help. Developed by the Rotary Community Group East in Melbourne, Victoria, it’s being used in schools, medical clinics, community hubs, local businesses, and many other environments.

The impact has been remarkable. Since its launch in February 2026, hundreds of scans show that people are reaching out at all hours, often from unexpected places, and often when they feel they have nowhere else to turn.

It also demonstrates how a small, low-cost tool can create a wide safety net when embraced by clubs, councils, youth services, and local partners. It’s a powerful example of modern Rotary innovation and a reminder that sometimes the simplest ideas can save lives.
