Interact

Take action, build international understanding, and make new friends around the world.
 
Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Find out how serious leadership can be seriously fun.

Interact is a very dispersed program and we see great value in having leaders learn more about how other clubs have been set up and are running, and there is a clear opportunity to build stronger connections between those involved in in starting and supporting Interact clubs.
We are exploring the idea of creating a network or Community of Practice (CoP) for Interact Champions: not a formal committee, but a simple, supportive space for program directors to share ideas, compare models, and learn from one another.

Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA)

MUNA is a part of a global Rotary project to educate senior high school students on the United Nations organisation and its vital commitment to world peace, in addition to health, education and living standards around the world. MUNA provides an excellent forum for students to develop and practice their public speaking skills whilst debating on topical world issues.
 
Each MUNA has its own strengths, innovations, and approaches. Many leaders have expressed interest in learning more about how other districts run their programs, and there is a clear opportunity to build stronger connections between those involved in hosting MUNA.

We are exploring the idea of creating a network or Community of Practice (CoP) for MUNA leaders — not a formal committee, but a simple, supportive space for program directors to share ideas, compare models, and learn from one another.

Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN)

Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment is a residential camp for high school aged young people. The objective of RYPEN is to support young people to develop life skills, build confidence, test assumptions and build peer networks.
 
RYPEN in a wide variety of formats, each with its own strengths, innovations, and approaches. Many leaders have expressed interest in learning more about how other districts run their programs, and there is a clear opportunity to build stronger connections between those involved in RYPEN delivery.
With this in mind, we are exploring the idea of creating a network or Community of Practice (CoP) for RYPEN leaders — not a formal committee, but a simple, supportive space for program directors to share ideas, compare models, and learn from one another.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)

RYLA

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) are events for participants ages 14-30 to learn how to become dynamic leaders and change themselves and the world. 
 
RYLA is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where you develop your skills as a leader while having fun and making connections.

RYLA Oceania extends the impact of RYLA across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific through initiatives that inspire alumni, empower young leaders, and strengthen Rotary.

RYLA Oceania provides the opportunity for RYLArians to continue their RYLA journey through our signature program, RYLA Oceania ELEVATE.

We support the community of Leaders of local District RYLA programs through our annual RYLA Regional Leaders Forum.

RYLA Oceania celebrates the amazing achievements of RYLAarians and RYLA Programs every year by coordinating and hosting the RYLA Oceania AWARDS.

RYLA Oceania Awards

The RYLA Oceania Awards recognize and celebrate the individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to RYLA across Oceania.

RYLA could not be possible without the generous support of Rotary clubs and community groups, the kindness of speakers who give their time and experience, and most notably the incredible work and effort from passionate RYLA Program Leaders.

RYLA Oceania Forum

The RYLA Regional Leaders' Forum brings together RYLA Program leaders from Districts across Oceania to strengthen each RYLA program through collaboration and the sharing of resources, ideas and best practices.

The weekend is a wonderful opportunity for RYLA Leaders to network, seek inspiration and gain awareness of how RYLA is run in different Districts.

RYLA Elevate

RYLA Oceania ELEVATE, is a four-day retreat where young leaders create personal strategies for sustainable leadership, gain practical tools (from CliftonStrengths to situational leadership), and join a regional network of changemakers.

Science Experience

The National Science Experience

The Science Experience is a fun 1 or 3 days of science activities for Year 9 and 10 students, each year.
Each program is designed to provide students who have an interest in science with an opportunity to engage in a wide range of fascinating science activities under the guidance of scientists who love their work.
 
Your club or Rotary Community Group could set up and host your own event or you can sponsor existing events or participants. The program currently takes place in over 15 universities and tertiary institutions, within many different laboratories and lecture theatres. Participants perform experiments in the laboratories, meet and hear senior lecturers in the lecture theatres, attend site visits and walk around and experience what it is like to be on the campus of a university or tertiary institution. More than 87,000 students have taken this rare opportunity, to date.
 
The program also provides information about further studies in science, technology and engineering. It highlights the wide range of careers that allow students to pursue their interest and abilities in the sciences. One aspect of the program often commented on by participants is the opportunity to meet and share ideas with students from different schools.
